1. Introduction
Problem
Users want to watch their favorite bands, plays, and Broadway-style shows live but do not want to be present because of the number of people or can’t be there physically due to medical reasons, geographical location, or pandemic.
Research Goals
I am looking to learn about competitors such as DaCast, Vimeo, Looped, LiveXLive to see what trends they are following with their overall design layout for the budget feature. I will review the placement of video options and the overall flow of information architecture to reveal any pains that could be avoided while designing C2G0 LIVE.
Methodologies
The research methods I will use are market research, user interviews, contextual inquiries, risk analysis, .
Participants
My ideal participants for this project would be any race ages 18-65. College student with a part-time job, a musician in his or her late 20’s, an office employee in mid 30’s in a financial company, or a salesman in his 40’s. I will begin my research with user interviews to get a solid foundation of pros and cons about competitor apps, contextual inquiries to know how user-friendly a site is, and market research to check competitor’s success rates.
Goals
Desired Outcome:
To develop a solution that could benefit all users
the users in addressing their concerns regarding watching live concerts or shows
Who Stands to Benefit?
Record labels
Independent artists
Music streaming app partnerships
The concert/show fan(s)
Benefits to Stakeholders
This will generate new streams of revenue by expanding on the or adding options to the Multi-Tier Pricing model currently used as well as providing a green solution by keeping all tickets as a digital option refraining from printing physical tickets
Competitive Analysis
Competitive Analysis Results
01 — Only 1 out the 4 companies would be a direct competition
02 — All apps are compatible with multiple devices and interfaces
03 — All offer user hosting or broadcasting
04 — Pricing tiers are developed for broadcasters or streamers.
05 — Video Quality on all was high quality and Dacast was the only service offering 4K.
06 — Companies are lacking research and are falling behind resulting in not following trends of users.
07-Even though one company could be direct competition, they do not offer all of the perks that each individual company offers.
Empathy Research
3 participants were used for the research:
Research Debrief:
One of the common factors that all participants shared is the use of their iPhone for streaming videos on Youtube or other social media such as Instagram or Tik Tok.
4 out of 5 almost always prefer watching music on Tik Tok since there were interesting musical covers of other artists.
1 out of 3 preferred watching Livestream shows.
1 out of 3 used his smartphone predominantly for searching but would not purchase videos because he did not trust buying online.
3 out of the 3 really enjoyed the ability to watch artists they had never thought of watching.
Positive experiences
Very Easy to navigate artist names
Enjoyed adding comments to live videos.
Negative experience
People became a little bored or overwhelmed with the constant barrage of content.
One participant did not trust the mobile app s as well as experiencing a cumbersome check-out process for subscriptions. I would think a better solution for this problem would be for the provider to devise a streamlined check-out process without so many steps in order to finalize purchases easier, especially for older customers that predominantly shop at brick and mortar ticket locations.

Reflection
Streaming services would have to have a subscription base to cover broadcasting and server maintenance to handling large amounts of traffic. It could be tier-based pricing giving viewers the option to participate in meet and greets, access to special/limited edition merch, songs, or memorabilia.
You would need a White labeling platform in place to secure and protect artists, performers, and companies' licensing/branding.from hackers or other entities that steal intellectual property
Virtual concert tickets should be at lower costs since customers will pay subscriptions.
Customers should be given promo codes for concert tickets and any merch related to the event they would.
